that was built in the 1930s.
History: A tract of land and funds were bequeathed by the former 7th District congressman Gordon Lee in 1927 for the purpose of " the uplifting and educating of coming generation in the manner that would be of most service to humanity." Mr. Lee also stipulated the high school building have an auditorium, gymnasium, dormitories, superintendent's home and a teacherage. The high school was completed and dedicated in 1930. Students boarded from as far away as Cuba and continued to board until 1951. By that time, Gordon Lee Memorial High School had one of the most progressive curriculums in this area of the state.
